There are moments in life when we seem to hold our breath, we become almost invisible and are the best at practising the statue game. We are there, yet, not there at all. We continue to breathe, but movement and life occur only in our brain at the rhythm of memories. We are attentive observers but distant from the "noise" of everyday life. We are assailed by memories and thoughts, and then flowers and butterflies are born. They are the ones that awaken our other senses with vivid images, smells and sounds of that place where our inner child was happy. Mine loved Africa, and even today, I have it tattooed on my skin and in my heart in such a vivid and intense way. We need to suspend time in order to grasp it again in the present, him and us, following the path of acceptance and trust in the future. This original piece of Giclée analogue collage & mixed media on framed canvas was created to be exhibited at the Design District in London, in June 2022.
